"Virtual Reality Life" (rewritten)
Written September 30, 1998
What if life was a virtual reality game?
Your friends and family weren't real.
Anyone's fate or fame
A device would conceal.
Who can tell what's real or what's not?
You could even be the virtual one.
Maybe even a type of robot.
You can't escape it by trying to run.
If you get hurt in the virtual plane,
Like a wound from a knife.
From that, what would you gain?
Because you'd hurt yourself in the real life.
Who knows, maybe in the reality scene,
It's possible we're not even human, there,
But no matter how keen,
We may never figure out the universal tear.
