Fubar day for household. Unnecessary drama has me helping the contractor alone, with questions I can’t answer. Fighting back panic attack. This is a test. Darlana is MIA.

Later online, Ed told me there’s no need to fear or panic. “Do what most people do. Tell them the answer which will require the least amount of work. ie. ‘Is there lead paint?’ You say, ‘Nope, we got unleaded. I lick it every day to be sure.'” Haha.

Handyman has come and gone. Kitchen sink faucet, bathroom ceiling fixture, wall vent caps, thermometer, all replaced. Heat is working as intended. Filters in place. Back door knob installed. Only thing I’m not satisfied with is the hole was made too big in the back door, and the handyman had to stuff insulation into it, to keep the heat in. Now door faceplates have to be considered, out of the pocket.

Irritated also for another reason.

Bugger this. Let everyone else tra-la-la around the place, I’m going to take a freaking nap.

On the positive side, it’s nice to know I’m trusted enough to work with the handyman on things that have to be done with the house.

Another positive: Darlana is happy, so I’m happy.

More work to do and I just can’t, not right now, I’m too tired and my feet are killing me.

Helped make truffles.

Brrrr

New York State is cold.

(Understatement of the century)

*flex*

Feeling overly accomplished for installing a paper towel holder and a hand towel holder today. Much learned about screws, anchors, and hammers. Yay.

And helping to install a new toilet seat earlier that day. Which sounds much harder than it was, because the old one had practically merged with the toilet.

Yay, and oh nooo

Good news: Dani’s back home.
Bad news: Uno won’t leave the cellar, the beardie’s tank was broken in transit and returned to the sellers and they’re currently out of stock, and last night I broke out into hives, but I have yet to figure out what gave me the allergic reaction. Yay.

And the movers still haven’t arrived.

And I still have a cold. Hoping karma will shift.

Waiting on movers

October 11, 2010 @ 11:55 PM

I want my stuff to get here already. Hope they’re not waiting on me to answer the phone ’cause my cell died. …I think I packed the cord in with the stuff on the moving truck. Looks like a trip to the Verizon store tomorrow.

Also still waiting on the beardie’s new tank! D:

I have arrived!

Good news: Arrived at the new home, safe and sound, with the kitty.
Bad news: The lizard was supposed to arrive around noon, but never came. Calling various post offices.

Last night here

October 7, 2010 @ 6:08 PM

All my things are now either in storage or in transit toward the new home. Bearded dragon has been shipped, flight reservation has been booked. Now to just cancel my current bills and file some changes of address.

No chair, couch, or bed. Mah butt hurts.

Last night here, so gonna go out to the bar and drink and get laid. And by ‘drink’ I mean soda, and by ‘get laid’ I mean darts, and by ‘bar’ I mean–well, I still mean bar.

—————————-

Back from dart-playing at the bar and motor-carting around the grocery store for fun one last time. Got home, was called (at 2am) to be told my flight for tomorrow is delayed and won’t catch it’s connecting flight in time. It’s a good thing I called the airline to double-check, because they didn’t bother to move my cat from the old flight plan to the new one.

So Mum’s mad at me (what’s new, eh?), and in unrelated matters, the cat peed on a blanket that was on the floor. Guess who stepped in it.

Why are reptiles disliked?

October 4, 2010 @ 11:38 PM

Called up an airline help desk, asked if they allow lizards on flights. Sounds like she’s trying not to giggle… She said she’d go check.

And of course the answer was no.

This one airline is sending me back and forth between two phone numbers. I can have the cat in the cabin, but the reptile has to fly in cargo. On another plane. Poor Isaac, you don’t deserve to be treated like this. :(

Bad kitteh!

Cat’s sitting in my tub, staring at the drain. Should I be worried?

Cats on keyboards am bad, mmmk? After Uno tired of sitting in the tub, she tried to add 10 2-liters to my online order for pizza.

The weirdest thing is a cat’s ability to make your computer do what you didn’t even know it could do. Give a cat the opportunity, it’ll probably get into the Department of Defense’s database.
