In the late 90s, my web alias was "DeathRaven", but now I just go by Ryan Mosby. TwilightRealm is my personal web site and online sanctuary. I am what you many call a freelance web designer and an aspiring artist. In my spare time I like to read, draw, and sculpt. I have graduated college and am currently trying to survive the world--whee!
These days people are quick to assume that I'm a fan of a book series called Twilight, enough so to make a web site with the word in the domain name. However, I bought TwilightRealm.com in 2003, before the book franchise. This site has not, nor will ever (as long as I'm here), host fandom for that series.
Another assumption is that I chose the name based on a Zelda game. This is also untrue.
The dictionary defines twilight as "the soft, diffused light from the sky when the sun is below the horizon, either from daybreak to sunrise or, more commonly, from sunset to nightfall." Colorful twilight has always reminded me of rainbows
, which in turn remind me of my beloved and late Grandma "Mo" Mosby. The glass prisms in her kitchen window always cast rainbows, and as a child I used to try and catch them in my hands. Their colors, so vibrant and real, yet fleeting, impossible to catch the essence of on canvas or camera. I will always thank my Grandma for showing me that there is real beauty in the world.
After I bought the domain, I discovered from Internet archives that this domain had been owned from 1998 to 2002 by a creative young woman named Sean-Perrin Parker with the web alias "Dreamspinner". She was an inspiring writer, web designer, and artist. Unfortunately she fell victim to breast cancer and died in June of 1999. An online memorial and her old web site (as much of it as I could salvage from Internet archives) has been set up at dreamspinner.twilightrealm.com
